JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts benefits orientations and explains benefits self-enrollment process to new hires
Follows up with new hires to ensure benefits enrollment within eligibility period
Maintains employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in HR system of record for benefits information
Assists employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims
Resolves employee issues with insurance providers and other benefits administrators
Assists with participation efforts to drive participation in Companys wellness program through communications, activities, and other initiatives
Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
Prepares and sets up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices
Assist HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements
Maintain separate leave / medical file for each leave situation
Administers COBRA
Assist HR manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company
Assists with the review and response to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
Assist with review of monthly unemployment statements
Reconciles insurance invoices
Reconciles 401K balance annual statements, loans and withdrawals.
Guides employees about leave policies and eligibility (STD, FMLA, STD, Military, WC etc.)
Maintains separate leave / medical file for each leave situation
Processes applications for Tuition Assistance Program ensuring approvals received in accordance with policy
Assists in maintaining workers comp injury folder for each employee
Assists in H2B visa compliance
Administers the Apprenticeship paperwork process in conjunction and compliance with governing bodies (Example, Career Source & ABC)
Assists with special projects as needed

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience in employee benefit administration
PHR certification or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:
2-3 years of experience in employee benefits administration

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to speak Spanish required
Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Able to manage multiple priorities and overlapping deadlines
Knowledge of H2B Visa compliance
Flexible to accommodate changing priorities and shifts in day-to-day tasks
Strong attention to detail and demonstrates sound judgment
Ability to listen and address/diffuse conflict situations
Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements
Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, State and Federal regulations
